1997 – 1999
Expansion of the ruined north bank with a high-water wall to realign the follow of godds in the Andernach harbour and in particular in the docks.
1999 – 2000
Construction of the container terminal on the south quay, first container handling with luffing and slewing crane at the and of February 200. Mid 2000 saw the start up of a new container bridge.
2002
Installation of an addition 45 to luffing and sleqing crane on the north bank to handle the considerable increases in mass goods at this point. Set up of a hopper with scale unit for direction handling of ship to wagon to ensure that wagons are not overloaded.
2003
Start up of the first European covered mobile handling system (suitable for containers). Not an ordinary covered stationary handling system that moves the ship during the loading and unloading process, instead the hall over the ship remains stationary.
2007
Construction of a new container bridge on the rolled strip storage of Rasselstein. Start on construction of new rolled strip storage for Rasselstein closer to the production operation.
2010
Expansion of the harbour basin, widening of the harbour entrance and improving on the rail infrastructure.
Planned
Further expansion of the rail infrastructure at Stromhafen.
